I am not a morning person. Never have been. But after doing this engagement session at sunrise, I may have to get up before the sun more often. The light was awesome. The couple was beautiful. Just perfect. Can’t wait till their wedding day!
2014 was such a great year, photography-wise. I was able to take photos for old clients that I loved seeing again, as well as lots of new ones! Meeting new families is one of the best parts of this job. I’ve lucked out with really great clients who are so fun to work with!
Here’s a sample of some of the work I did this past year. Huge thank you to all my loyal clients!!
This was one of those photo sessions where everything goes right. After getting rained out and having to reschedule, we got so lucky with gorgeous sunlight and an amazing sky. Add to that a beautiful location and a stunning family and you really can’t go wrong! I LOVED following this family around the beach and capturing them just being a family.
It’s been really tough to schedule sessions for the last few months. The rain in Florida just won’t stop! On the day of this session this gorgeous mom and I kept our fingers crossed. We had to move very quickly because the storm clouds were rolling in. By the end of our rushed session, we got drenched in rain! Such troopers! So glad the sun stayed out long enough to get these shots of this beautiful family. And in case you’re wondering, this little man will be almost exactly (or exactly, time will tell) one year older than his little brother. Future best friends!
I keep waiting for it to wear off, but nope. Lifestyle newborn photography is still my favorite kind of shoot! Especially with a family as sweet as this one and a newborn as snuggly as this little guy. I loved getting to spend a few hours in this home recording these fleeting moments!
I don’t often photograph family reunions, but when I do it makes me count down the days till I’m reunited with all my family. (Three more months!!) I think it’s so great that this family not only made the time to get together for a little Florida relaxation, but they also made sure to take time during their week of fun to take family photos! I’m so happy I got to be the one to record these memories for them. They were such a fun bunch. You know you’re dealing with some pretty awesome people when they have a family cheer and happily chant it for you! 🙂 As an added bonus, we all got to see a rocket launch during the shoot!
When this family asked me to take their photos before their daughter left for an 18 month mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I was so happy to do it. Despite the torrential downpour (I almost got into a car accident on the way over!), we were able to get some nice family shots before they are apart for the next year and a half. This was such a loving and kind family and I was so happy to get to work with them!
I loved photographing this teeny tiny boy at just 10 days old. He’s got two of the best big sisters around. 🙂 Check out their last family pictures as a family of 4 and the cutest baby bump ever HERE.
It’s always a little nerve wracking when a fellow photographer asks you to shoot her family/maternity photos. It’s even more nerve wracking when you are both wanting sunny backlit images and then Florida decides to stop having sunny evenings for the entire month of July. We were sad when the clouds rolled in yet again on the evening of our shoot (which had already been rained out multiple times). The rain JUST barely held off for us on this night. BUT! I’m still in love with this cloudy day session! I love the character and depth the clouds gave to these photos. But what I love even more is the obvious joy and love in this beautiful family, as they await the arrival of their second son. <3 Thanks for allowing me to capture these moments for you, M!
I was so happy to get to squeeze in a session during this family’s beach vacation! We were so lucky to get such a beautiful evening. Their gorgeous girls were the perfect little models. Love this family!!
